Ok, I HATE house hunting!! Whenever I talk about it, people always say/ask, "oh don't you just love going and looking at houses?!" My response, "no." I hate it. I hate the entire process!! I hate looking at houses, I hate getting my hopes up about a house...I hate making offers...I just plain HATE it!!
Mike and I have seriously looked at every house for sale in Farmington! I'm not kidding. We have looked at 10 houses. Those are just the ones we have actually gone and walked around in...that's not counting all the ones we looked at online, drive bys, etc!
We have found a couple that we have liked but there is always something wrong with them! Two that we really loved were foreclosures and they were missing all the appliances. One in particular was missing:
1. electrical panel
2. oil tank
3. water tank
4. boiler
5. all kitchen appliances
6. all lighting fixtures
7. all face plates for outlets and light switches
8. shower heads
9. propane stove in living room
10. one toilet
And I think that was it! But it was on a lot of land, in a nice quiet area and HUGE! They wanted nothing for it! But look at all the work it needs! And there is mold growing in the basement in the pull under garage! We had a bunch of people come in and give us some estimates but we haven't decided what we're going to do with house yet. We have a lot of questions for our loan officer!
The other one was also a foreclosure and it was only missing the shower heads, a few lighting fixtures and the kitchen appliances. We put an offer in on this one but the bank countered back to full price and wanted us to close in like 10 days!
We are going to look at another house today, one that is fresh to the market...on a LOT of land and close to town but surrounded by woods! Our appointment is at 10:30 and there is SO much snow outside...I hope we can make it up/down the drive way. I guess it has a LONG drive way and we're taking my car this morning. I guess I should go and clean off the 6 inches of snow that's on my car! I didn't put my car in the garage because I was going to go to my parent's house to see my new little bro dog! And Mike was going to change his oil...so I left my car out!
Oh and I will take lots of pictures of the new puppy! His name is Duke - his nickname is Dookie...because his color is shit brindle brown! That's a direct quote from my dad!
